The tool works to improve the survival of wild trout by quickly removing the hook from a captured trout's mouth, reducing overhandling and the amount of time the trout is out of water. By adopting tools such as this, anglers can improve the survivability of trout in the Catch and Release process, helping sustain wild trout fisheries on the rivers they frequent.
